I`ve just bought a second hand bike and the l/h shifter clamp bolt has rounded out.

Any suggestions for removal?

I have tried cutting a slot into it with a hacksaw but can`t seem to get enough leverage on it for it too loosen.

(Its an M770 XT shifter.)

  • Tried drilling from the other side?

Alternatively cut the bolt (between the two parts of the clamp) to relieve the tension and then you should be able to remove them easily.

Tap a slightly bigger Torx key into it that may work or as above or drill it and reverse thread remove it.
