Hi guys,

I'm looking to armour up a wee bit, nothing over the top but want to protect my knees (just bought some Fox Racing Launch Pro knee pads) and my wrists...

I like the look of the 661 Wrist Guards (http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Mode ... elID=47034) but they look a bit bulky and although they say they can fit underneath gloves I can't imaging they'd work with fairly skin-tight gloves like my Spesh BG Gel Long Finger... I'd try them myself but I can't find a local shop that holds stock...

Does anyone have these and know if this combo would work?

Cheers :)

I haven't tried those ones, but did try the 661 Wrist Wrap Pro:

Because like you, I didn't think I could squeeze them under tight cycling gloves. When you look at the Pros they don't look like they do anything but once you put them on you understand how the work.

I felt like they did give support to the wrist and provide some resistance to over stretching but they didn't feel as good as ones with protection on the palm. But then the ones with protection on the palms interfered with the feel and grip of the handlebars and had trouble with gloves. I found the open palm type a good compromise.

Mate of mine used one of those wrist guards when recovering from a sprained wrist.
I'd say that whilst wrist guards are usable whilst riding during healing, I wouldn't recommend them for general use. They're bulky, and restrict control and grip on the bars.

I used exactly that combo when starting riding again after breaking my wrist and having it surgically repaired. It was the only way I was able to ride a bike for a couple of months post surgery. It's great when recovering from injury but I dont use it now I have healed as its too restriting.
