Winter tyres

Hello
I have just bought a new bike, a cube limited race hard tail.
The tyres that came with it aren't very knobbly and I slid around a bit today in wet conditions so am looking for some winter tyres.
I mainly ride trail centres such as Llandegla and mainly go on the red routes but sometimes try the black tentatively.
Does anyone have any recommendations for good tyres for the wet?
Thanks in advance

You shouldn't need a dedicated winter tyre for most trail centres, including Llandegla as they generally pretty hard surfaced. Try playing with your tyre pressures first and if that doesn't work maybe switch to a more general trail tyre with a softer compound.
I use the same tyres in Winter as Summer at most trail centres, only switching to a Storm Control or something if riding natural terrain, or maybe somewhere like Penmachno.0 -
I stick with Panaracer Fire XC's for trail centres, but am using a fireMud on the rear on natural trails round here at the moment, as has been said trail centres don't tend to get truly muddy so don't need a mud tyre!

Maxxis Crossmark's won best trail centre tire of the year award two years in a row... Bontrager Mud X's are a good winter tire but like it's been said, trail centres need not a winter tyre. Maxxis Advantages are a good 'in the middle' tire.Ibis Mojo HD 2011 www.bikeradar.com/forums/viewtopic.php? ... t=12842777

I have the Bonty Mud X tyres and although they are great on natural trails in mud, I don't like them on trail centres.----
