Does anyone know the number of links that comes new on Spicy 316s? Its running SLX parts. Used to run lovely, but I replaced the chain a little while ago with a SRAM one but on gnarly downhill bits it does tend to come off - not sure if I can afford to lose a couple more links.....shifting is quite slow so Im tempted to just go for it.

Thanks!

  • to check, put the chain around the biggest chainring and sprocket without running through the mech, then add 2 links to get the correct chain length

If the bike is a fully check that the chain died not stop the travel form reaching full movment or you could be ripping rear mechs off.
