Are these OK for commuting/occasional touring? (I run a 42mm tyre at the moment)

    Look fine to me - watch the hubs as they will be 135mm rears (MTB width). Deore hubs are a doddle to service, ACI spokes and Mavic rims.

    If the build isn't great, I'd run them past a LBS to ensure the spoke tensions are correct.
