I have a 16" Kona Kula 2009 which I use for my daily 6km each way commute. I realise that the bike wasn't intended for the purpose I am using it for but sometimes you just need to make do and mend :).

The only modifications to the standard bike are a set of commuting tyres and a pannier rack which I've fitted. Is it possible to retrofit front/rear mudguards to protect me when the weather turns nasty, if so, what products can be recommended for me to look at?

Cheers

yep buy some and fit them.

    many out there.

    or is there some problem?

IIRC most Kona HTs come with mounting points.

Most HT's will have eyelets for a full rear guard, or even a single bolt guard where a calliper rim brake would be mounted.

Some suspension forks (all Suntours I have seen for example) have a tapped hole in the arch for taking a single bolt front guard.

Theres no problem in buying some but before I spent the time and money, I was unsure if the pannier rack would have posed a problem (ultimately unnecessarily wasting time and money). Also, as in most things in life, some things are better than others. I was looking for some recommendations for the better ones. If they are all much of a oneness then I can just go with the cheapest I can find.
