I currently use a 9-speed Shimano RD-M770 Rapid Rise rear mech on my bike. A couple of weeks ago it was bent quite badly and I need a new one. I might be looking to go 10-speed in the future and I know that Shimano don't make 10-speed in Rapid Rise so my question is: If I bought a 9 speed RR mech now, could it be converted to 10-speed in the future if I decide to go down that path?

Any advice? (and before anyone asks, yes, if it is at all possible, I would much rather stick with Rapid Rise)

Cheers.

    No. See the FAQ.

It's not possible to run a 9 speed mech on a 10spd set up

If I'd thought about it for more than 5 seconds I could have just checked the FAQ's. Eejit

Cheers guys - thanks for the replies, but now it's bye bye rapid rise
