Cycle carrier for cars with Spoilers

Am looking to get my self a hardtail shortly and also looking for a cycle carrier but i drive a fiesta ST which as standard has a small rear spoiler
for my sins i used to work at a halfords and from memory most carrier couldnt be fitted along with a spoiler,anyone have any pointer for carrier that aviod this problem

probably not what you want,, but a tow bar mounted one would,, but i guess you dont want a tow bar hitch on a car like that..
can your car take a roof rack,,, and those thule roofbar thingies..
we were in the same boat as you 4 years ago i coudl'nt get a bike rack on my crx delsol and our kids integra type r would'nt take a rack.. and neither car would suite a tow bar so we ended up getting a small van a pug partner combi van.www.bearbackbiking.com

You can buy roof bars for the fiesta so I'd say that'd be my choice.0

The Fiesta ST has a high spoiler and a flat-ish rear boot that it would just sit up against, the carrier can be fitted so it would go under it so it wouldn't go over it at all (if it was going over it it'd be sitting on your roof)
Unless you added an aftermarket spoiler that sits mid boot.
Most carriers fit over small spoilers anyway.0 -
My Pendle Strap-On rack fit over my VTS spoiler no problems.
It kinda fits my Civic Type R just the shape of the boot lid won't allow the the side straps to secure properly. Clears the spoiler no worries though.0 -
I have a Saris Bones 2 and it works fine on my Mk5 Golf GTI. The straps do pull very hard on the spoiler but no problems so far. Also worth bearing in mind that if your hatch has glass edges then you may need to get a special set of straps so the glass wont crack like these....

That's the good thing about the Pendle, the straps clear the spoiler...0
