Hi,

I'm hoping some of the locals will be able to make this meeting to develop the cycling infrastructure in Cheltenham

Cheltenham BMX Race track meeting this Monday 27th Feb at 7pm.

In a nutshell we have been working for sometime to get the derelict BMX track in Cheltenham redeveloped. We have a fantastic amount of support from the establishment (Local MP, Police, Local NHS, Council, British Cycling) but we now need riders to attend who are interested in seeing another cycling facility in the area.

The plan is to build a regional (8man) BMX track which will be all weather and in the heart of Cheltenham. We have established a BMX club and this will aim to compete in the regional series and even nationals.

The meeting is to invite the public to discuss the plans and would like to invite all those riders who will support this to come along. We expect there to be one or two people who don't want this to happen so with a mass of support we can hopefully show the positive side of this too. If we don't get the support this new cycling facility may not happen.

The meeting itself will be held on Monday 27th Feb in St Barnabas Church Hall in Orchard Way, GL51 7AJ. This is off Princess Elizabeth Road, at 7pm. We are setting up at 6.15pm so we will be there before 7pm.

There will be press, and Council Officials as well as Council Members and we also have the DartmoorUK/Slam69 riders coming including the current National 4x Champion. "
