Removing fork decals - best way?

Ok, so not quite workshop/tech, but I'm unsure of the best way to remove fork decals (fox, if thats any help), to replace with shiny new ones.
I guess the best way is to use a heat gun, but what if you don't have one? Would a hair dryer loosen the adhesive on the vinyl enough to peel it off, or are there better suggestions?
Any help on such a n00bish question would be greatly appreciated.

If they aren't laquered over a hairdryer works just fine, better than a heat gun as it won't get hot enough to damage the paint!

Simon, you're a star buddy, you've confirmed what I thought, but I was just checking.

As Simon says (no pun intended!) Hairdryer if they are not lacquered over, if any residue left behind use isopropanol to wipe it off.0
