I thing it is ugly and pointless.

Although I'd still like to try one just to see if it rides as bad as it looks.
If I lived in an apartment, I'd be looking for creative storage solutions rather than silly bikes. There are MANY MANY people on here who kep "real" bikes in apartments.
The only folding bike I'd consider at the moment is this one:
F*cking Fast 29er
Rapid Rose Roady
Bionicon Beast
Rockhopper Communter
This is the only thread I've ever found that's dedicated to storing bikes in apartments (it's in Swedish, but there are plenty of pics for inspiration): http://happymtb.org/forum/read.php/1/483001/page=1
Evil Sovereign
Santa Cruz Heckler (gone)
On One Inbred (gone)
Ragley Mmmbop (gone)
As for our Swedish friends - I can't remember when I was last so impressed by a nation. Here's a bunch of people who know how to treat their bikes like members of the family!
XM-057 rigid 29er
There is no secret ingredient - Kung Fu Panda

I wouldn't buy a folder just because of a lack of space though. Each bike is designed for its own purpose.
love my Brommy though
