Hi guys I got my first road bike ever 5 weeks ago and have been using it to commute 3 times a week and get out on a Sunday with a few mates, Ive just done my best ever time of 25 minutes 40 secs to commute home!
It is 8 miles! I was just wondering is this good?
I want to enter a 10 me tt in the summer, my commute is mainly flat
Cheers

Edit: 18.7mph average sound very respectable to me for 8 miles over a flat route.
Have you got a smart phone? If so get an app like Strava, Edomondo or Google MyTracks, get it to record your route and then post it up to a website like Strava. If other people ride the same segment as you, you can compare results.
2nd Edit: Just found this for you: http://ctt.org.uk/Beginners/YourFirstTimeTrial/tabid/82/Default.aspx
According to their site, the results of their CC Breckland 10 race, first place was 21 min 29 sec for a 10 mile tt. Sorry, no idea whether their route is flat or hilly.Summer - Canyon Ultimate CF SLX 9.0 Team
Winter - Trek Madone 3.5 2012 with UDi2 upgrade.

Hey! I've heard of a two new trails, think are very challenging. One have six miles and the other twelve. Both are near Tomintoul in the Central Highlands. Along with a hub in the forest at Carn Meilich. Have you visted them already?0
