Hi,
If you had or still have a contour cam, which mount system do you use? I hear the vented helmet straps can't be trust.

I use the sticky pad mount on a piss pot helmet which I wear when filming XC stuff, Goggle strap for my Full face, will need to use something for the vented helmet come summer though.
This is what I would like but it is as yet unavailable in the UK.

I use the vented helmet strap on my helmet and haven't had any problems with it and the flexi-strap for attaching to the bike.'Hello to Jason Isaacs'0

+1 for the vented helmet mount. The only time it's moved is when I changed helmets.I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.0

I had no problem with the vented helmet mount apart from that the weight of the camera and mount tended to pull my helmet to one side over time. I tried doing up my helmet strap tighter, but it still moved a bit on my head. The security of the mount on the helmet was fine though.
I prefer the handlebar mount which is well made and holds the camera very well.0 -
Spoke to Contour about this and they said 'You can't beat Electrical tape and or zip ties'...
The frame mount that rotates I found wasn't secure enough holding the camera and the action was like it was held by a 15year old with a copy of razzle... The Full Face Google mount was fine but the flat mount ones ripped the lacquer off my mates Giant ReignX.
If the camera hadn't of developed the faults it did, I was going to make a universal adapter that mounted it to some kind of tube and then used zip ties to attach tube to where I wanted to mount it.Ibis Mojo HD 2011 www.bikeradar.com/forums/viewtopic.php? ... t=12842777

vented helmet mount with extra padding to stop it rattling, the goggle mount and have a sticky mount on an old helmet.
Loads of vids on my contour page..0 -
Thanks guys, I went for the flex strap! Should arrive in time for some weekend action and hopefully i will remember to update here0

we got most of the mounts for the contour, the goggle mount is ok but you can get a little movement.
the sticky one (for a full facer) is probably he best.
not tried the vented mount as xc lids tend to move around to much with a camera on them.
got the frame mount but not tried it yet.
the bar mount is a no no IMO barmounting a camera doesnt work
i am freinds with lacy kemp who works for contour so we got a load of mounts for free not to mention some decent offers on contour cameras..www.bearbackbiking.com

Am scared of the sticky mount! Doesn't it come off?0 -
Here is one I made earlier

I do find the camcorder shaky and haspoor stabilizers. Then again it could be the way I mounted it on my helmet
Any software recommendations for post-processing?0 -
That on your helmet? Either you have a wonky neck or you didn't turn the lens to level lol!
I took thins today using the goggle mount: viewtopic.php?f=40066&t=128386850 -
I did have the lens in correct position but the mount was sliding to the left. Need to experiment more!0
