Hi Guys,
So im looking to get myself a decent bike. My local riding spot will be mainly Sherwood Pines (Notts) but hoping to travel around a bit to.Would like to progress with the technical trails as I advance. Budget is £1000 and the two bikes ive short listed are:
Trek 6700 2011 £950
Cube LTD Pro £949
I also quite like the idea of the Whyte 809 £1099 but not sure its worth the extra money?
Any advice would be greatly apreciated Cheers, Pete.
My question is...I know that these bikes are primarily cross country bikes with only 100mm forks but how far (if at all) could they be pushed on the more technical trails. As it will mainly be used at sherwood pines will they be capable of doing everything there with out trashing them (excluding the dirt jumps) or do I really need to be looking at an entry level Full Suspention with lower spec components?

The cube has the better forks, any will serve you well and all will cope with trail centres, I'd go H/T for your budget.0

If you want to push them down technical trails you might want to look at bikes with 120mm forks like this:
