Main course: fat wholemeal American pancakes with sausage, bacon and haggis drizzled with maple syrup
Dessert: regular wholemeal pancakes with freshly squeezed lemon juice and sugar
The wholemeal flour lets me fool myself into thinking its not that unhealthy!More problems but still living....0 -

My girlfriend's Dutch, her dad brings it over when he visits :-) Appelstroop would also be good, I guess.
She's tried me with the stamped mice, but so far I'm resisting!0 -

Does he bring over frietsaus too?
Echt lekker he! I'm a dutchie living in Scotland so it's VITAL my supply of frietsaus, appelmoos, stroopwafels and good jong belegen Gouda doesn't run out. We currently have a 25Litre super tub of Frietsaus sitting out the back. That'll do us for a while.0 -
And on pancake day...
Went out for a ride and stopped by the house at the midway point for a lunch of pancakes with maple syrup and bacon, and dutch style pancakes with cheese and ham.
Tonight for dinner we are having green pancakes with goats cheese and lime for starter, Crispy duck with chinese pancakes for main, and chocolate crepes for dessert.

Appelmoos! Ha. I'll be honest, was brought up with a Dutch mother in the UK, and she did as much as she could to make me a culturally Dutch kid. With the exception of appelmoos. When I used to head over to sailing camps in Friesland with other Dutch kids, the appelmoos was always a bit perplexing.
Drives me mad I can't get Frietsaus easily here. I've just got the GF into overjarig Gouda, and she's totally come round to the Frietsaus.
Managed to have some tasty bitte bolle in a cafe here in London the other day too. Cheered me up no end.0 -
