Jumping Cogs

Hi all,

On my last couple of rides I seem to have an issue with the chain dropping down a cog on the cassette, usually in the middle of the block, and most noticeably when under load, i.e giving it some beans. Doesn't seem to happen when spinning away lightly.

Am I right in thinking this is most likely cassette/chain wear (both circa 2000 miles old) or could it be something as simple as the adjusting the cable tension or having a go at re-indexing the rear deraillieur?

Bikes not had a knock or owt so ruling out the hanger being bent...

Thanks!

If nothing else has changed then it could be cable tension, turn the adjuster on the rear mech a half turn at a time to see if it cures it. If it carries on happening then look at the chain next, it's unlikely to be the cassette at 2000miles unless you've really abused it.
