Garmin Data

Hi All,
Since starting road biking in October 2010 I've always used my iPhone coupled with Cyclemeter to log all of my rides. I was looking to purchase the Wahoo bike mount with ANT+ sensor /HRM/CAD sensor and was shocked at the price. Coupled with the problem that the iphone battery would maybe last 3 hours max and an upgrade of phone in 18 months may render the mount useless I made the decision to buy an Edge 500 instead.
The unit is yet to arrive but I'm looking forward to it. My question is simply am I best uploading all my Edge data to myGarmin or are there better ways of uploading the data?
PS I'm a Mac user if that makes any difference

It depends what you want out of it ... TBH I find a £12 sigma computer to be just as useful in the real world but as a new toy the Garmin is decent ...0 -
You can directly upload your data from an edge 500 to Strava (www.strava.com), but take care you may find yourself touring the country trying to claim king of the mountain status on various obscure bits of road that get tagged as a segment! Seriously give it a go, it is lots of fun and the data analysis is pretty good. There are also various alternative to the Garmin site for route planning etc. which you can then download and follow...0
