Confused about lockring removers

I need to change my cassette. I have a mountain bike with a Shimano cassette (CS HG something). I am exchanging it with a SRAM PC830 (which I assume should be compatible?)

I have am slightly confused about the lockring tools. I have just bought this: http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Mode ... delID=7975 however I have just looked at the x tools locking remover (http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Mode ... elID=10183) and it looks slightly different.

Have I bought the right things?

    SRAM and shimano use the same patten lock ring.

    One of those can not be used with solid axels.
