shock length struggle

I ride a remedy 9 which came standard with a fox float rp23 XV thats 8" long or 202mm (in new money) I really want to swap it for a dhx air or monarch plus however I cannot for the life of me find any in 8" as they are all 7.875 or 200mm in new money... they all seem to to be available in 2.25" stroke though which is what I need.

Does the 2mm really matter?

What effect will this slightly shorter shock have on my frame? suspension in general??

    It will (almost certainly) be fine. You'd have to be bery unlikely to hit a problem with the switch.
