hey all, would appreciate any help at all with this one. Out on a ride a week ago my girlfriend was complaining that her gears were skipping on her Voodoo Bantu.
had a quick look at it and noticed that the two smallest cogs on the cassette had bent teeth and gathered that it was probably that causing the prob. Iv tried to straighten them but with little success, so have decided to just put a new cassette on.
Only prob is i cant seem to find the exact same one to replace it with its a CS HG50 11t - 32t.
Would any cassette with the same teeth number be ok to fit? being pretty new to biking im a bit lost at the min.

Photos would help, but http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Mode ... odelID=443
Either will work fine, may need slight index adjustment on the 34 but nothing major if anything.0 -
i know im not at home at the moment so dont have access to the bike. forgot to mention its only an 8 speed.0

Porbably not bent. Teeth are made like that to aid shifting. Chances are your indexing is out. Smallest cogs are normally the first to get out of whack.A Flock of Birds

Before you buy anything show us a photo first. Some teeth are misleading.0 -
will have to put one up tomorrow , might try and re-index the gears again didnt make much difference the first attempt i made.0

Very hard to bend teeth on a cassette, especially the smaller rings.I don't do smileys.

+1, when spinning in a gear you shouldn't get any sound of the chain catching on neighbouring gears......
Don't forget it could be the front that is out causing it to skip down a ring and back up, in fact in my experience it's more likely the front.

grotty cables can cause dodgy shifts as well - its worth giving the derailleur cable a clean out0

Well i have spent over 2 hours messing and tuning up the gears, it seems to have done the trick and saved me a few squids so thak you for all the advice.
I found a couple of links on the chail had small bits of metal wedged in them, causing the chain to kink up and jump about. Cleaned it all up and it works a treat.0
