I presume there is a bike in there..It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them.

Quick pic of the bits I have.
Def gonna be white toupe saddle and sworks classic leather look tape.
Destickered c35s with Evo sc tubs and c24 clinchers with Veloflex masters.
Brakes are SRAM rival and cranks force, both will be unbranded, ultegra or ct2 chainrings.
Undecided now whether to go DA di2 or ultegra. Will have to weigh up cost of seatpost battery conversion and parts. Looking v expensive to do this mod on ult can maybe do it DIY with DA.
Bars, stem and post have no idea right now. Maybe 3t black. Ideally a post with 15-20mm layback if I can find something.
Next few weeks are gonna be painful I wanna ride it now.0 -
My favourite frame - will be an awesome steed sometime soon no doubt._________________________________________________

Yeah cheers Mark, cant wait to get it all sorted but knowing me I'll still be choosing the bars in march.
But....Wtf I sized this bike to use a 120mm stem but looks like it will be a slammed -17!
Wasn't expecting that but not complaining, should feel great.

Have you checked the relative heights of the bottom brackets?
To judge the right saddle height, stack and reach, you need to measure from there, rather than from the ground.
May be a trick of perspective, but it looks like the Colnago's is taller0 -
Yeah sure, the c59 is even higher than shown as the tyres are flat.
I've worked out by measuring both from the bb taking into account sta and comparing height and reach to bars and roughly seems a 120 -17 sat on the big headset cap works. I can start mocking it up at the weekend at work with bars and stem when the headset is installed.
I took the picture from level with the tt just to give an idea of the difference in headtube height and stem length.
Might forget about the seat tube battery for now until price comes down, the battery mount seems well hidden under the bb, I thought it would be on the top of the downtube.0 -
Nice bike. Wow, the BB heights are crazy. Can you please do me 2 favours:
1. Measure the heights of the BB from the floor to center of the spindles. Pls make sure the bikes are quite vertical as this can affect the height.
2. Please weigh everything on the Colnago - bare frame, uncut or cut fork. Many thanks. Me want to get same, but in a 54 sloping cuz that's my size :-)
Sometimes smaller bikes have lower BBs b/c cranks are shorter. But sometimes they have higher BBs to get the rider's higher so you have a meaningful head tube measurement and bearing psacing but it's not too tall for the rider. When a cyclist has a disagreement with a car; it's not who's right, it's who's left.0 -
1. I'll do that when built up for sure.
2. Frame 56cm, no bolts or collar 1087g

Love the weights: good ol Colnago knows that a bit of extra carbon in the BB, seatstays, and headtube makes a bike that handles like a dream [not the early 2000's alu Colnago Dream :-)] and also one you can put in a soft-sided bike bag, throw it on easyjet or ryanair, and you'll be the only cyclist not chewing on their fingernails the entire flight. Colnago does not subscribe to <1 mm thick carbon walls like the super-lightweight shops do. When I get my bag back from the luggage gorillas I always stick my hand in and run it over the seatstays of my R3SL. Not so with the B-stay on the 2006 'Nag.When a cyclist has a disagreement with a car; it's not who's right, it's who's left.0

Set up today against my fit to test for stem and post before buying.
Really pleased with the proportions etc etc, looks a nicely balanced bike. Slightly annoyed that the rail position on the toupe, which I really like, means I'll probably end up with an inline post. Will try a dorico first as I think the clamp is quite long? Maybe won't look quite as ridiculous as with this test post.
Off to the painters next week to get the cranks clearcoated where I sanded off the force logos and he's removing the CHS logo from the top tube of the frame. Hopefully build up next weekend.

Specialized s-works shallow. It's pretty nice, sort of wish the bend was a bit deeper or more open but was as close as I could find to the soma hwy ones I love.

Oh man, how nice is this going to be!?
I was all excited about the Dolan winter frame which I picked up today (still am), but this puts it right in the shade!
I'm looking forward to seeing it built.Ben

After browsing the top Pro team bikes on another mags web site I can't help but think that most of them a just plain F**cking ugly!! WTF Garmin are riding I just don't know. So it is nice to be able to browse something as gorgeous as the C59!! 8)0

Yup - what a lovely frame that really is. Give me a horizontal top tube any day. I agree with previous comment regarding the current garmin pro bikes - just can't fall in love with that compact geometry. I'm sure they ride amazing - but this C59 is just so good looking.
To the OP - come on and finish up please!! Get it built - and no coloured tyres please! Not that you would of course!0 -
Been faffing with the fit on this for a while and bought an sl3 tarmac which distracted me for a while though it wasn't a patch on this bike and subsequently got sold.
All left to do now is swap seatpost for the layback Dorico version, lose a spacer, cut the steerer and replace the bars with slightly longer FSA which I'll have to refinish. Tape will get replaced with microtex too as this Spesh stuff doesn't clean.
I swapped the saddle to a Romin Evo and it's really nice. I've never got on with a curved saddle before but this feels great. I can shift around on it front to back and the nose is nice to sit on. Found the nose on the Toupe unusable.
Also picked up these Ksyrium SLRs. The braking surface on them is nothing short of awesome. Not hugely convinced by the wheels otherwise. The R-Sys rear feels good but they don't like crosswinds and the hubs don't feel at all smooth. Be nice if Mavic made some exalith rims available so I can build them on DA hubs but until then I'll keep them as the braking, especially in the wet, is too good to give up.
The C35s on the other hand are utterly stunning wheels. They feel light, fast, stiff, planted, smooth, indestructible. Everything I'd ask for really. The Veloflex Carbons are also on another level. Will try the Arenberg/Roubaix after the summer.
