Shoes WITHOUT good ventilation?

After reading all of the tips about keeping your feet warm in winter (something I've never been able to achieve, no matter how warm the rest of me is) I was wondering if anybody knows of any shoes which aren't full of ventilation holes and mesh?

I'm not talking about the winter specific Diadora or Northwave shoes/booties but let's face it: for those of us living in north Europe there aren't that many days in the year where it's so hot that you can be really thankful for the ventilation in most shoes. I understand that shoe companies such as Diadora and Sidi are made in Italy but the northern part of the continent isn't blessed with Italian weather. Surely it's a gap in the market worth filling?

Overshoes on the top, bathroom sealant on the bottom. Job done.

Doesn't do it for me. I'm not asking for tips. Just asking why they don't make shoes for less than Mediterranean climates. I mean, even if it's warm and you ride through a puddle you'll get wet feet and you don't want to wear overshoes every time there's a bit of drizzle. I mean like when it's pizzing down and you need to pop to the shop you wouldn't wear sandals but a pair of sturdier leather shoes would do the job without having to resort to wellies.
  • Overshoes for me too.
    Get some winter mtb ones.

+1, this is what I use on Winter / wet weather bike with Time ATAC. Still just about usable for commuting duties in summer as Lorica 'breathes' OK
