    Is the finish slightly uphill?
The lead up to was, the last few K's were flat.

Superb job Greipel. That finish was hard. J-Rod was 12th, Nibs 3rd. The whole peloton was strung out:

    Marcel Kittel wins Stage 3.

Gutted for Team Sky considering for the last 40k, they chased the break of 1.30 minutes, caught it up in the last 5k and then pushed on for the line... I'm awaiting full top 10.

    EDIT:
    Greipel 2nd
    Bouhanni 3rd

For you Cav fans.... 8th.... Not sure if there was an issue yet.

Poor result today. Left it too late & found my path blocked in the last metres. Serves me right for hesitating. Congrats to @marcelkittel.

Just read he finished 8th. Can't believe he went for it, because he's not that crap.

Its not going to be the first or last time that happens is it?

If he got boxed in then its not a big deal, its not like his speed is being questioned is it.

Here we go. Cue pages of discussion of whether Cavendish is finshed/fat/arrogant/lazy.

Because he lost a sprint in the Tour of Oman.

Whats to discuss? He's all of the above.

    It must be the bike.

  • In any case, it is more interesting when he doesn't clean up all the sprints as they are not exactly riveting.

You forgot to mention that his team is rubbish and he's unless without HTC.

Of course it could be part of Cavendish's grand plan to make his competitors think he's fat/lazy/off form/finished/arrogant in preparation for San Remo.

Highlights show he did get partially boxed in but he was possibly too far off the pace coming to the line anyway so he sat up.

Sounds like an amazing stage today to watch...! A lot of surprising hills where the sprinters keep dropping and teams pull back to pick them up, but then they all re-join the peloton... Sounds entertaining! Anthony McCrossan (@antmccrossan) Is doing a fantastic job on twitter.
