Hello mountain bikers. My bike is nearly six years old now and just about the only original part {including the frame} is the fork. The fork is a FOX 100R and despite no real maintenance has never given me a problem and seems ok although I have nothing to compare it with. So my question is have forks advanced much since 2006 or are they really not a lot better ? I have a few hundred quid to spare and wouldn't mind getting a new white fork to go with my warranty replacement white frame rather than spending a hundred quid on a proper service.

Top end forks have progressed a lot, however if you have a good quality (like your Fox) working fork you will be spending a good few hundred to get better, my 2004 Manitou skareb elite still works A1, to get better I'd probably have to spend in excess of £300.
