I want some but their are many variations.

I know I want 2.35 and 60a compound and folding for saving a tiny bit of weight. Now its just the choice of dual ply or single ply.

Can some one explain the difference between dual ply and single ply and why dual ply is more expensive? Which is lighter, which is grippier, which is tougher?

Thanks

Dual ply, heavier, tougher, like bog roll.
Grippier - depends if the single ply disintegrate under your gnarly DH skilzzz.

  • Single ply for me then. I'm a smooth rider, like Shatner. I've never had a puncture off road.

I go with 60a single ply folding for Minions with regular trail use.

Thinking of Super Tacky 40a stuff for some DH situations. Heavy, tough and grippy for slippery and loose downhills. Otherwise, just the above does fine for regular trail use and with tubes (and folding single ply is good for posting. Light and gets through the letterbox :D).
