*WIGGLE VOUCHERS for helping me locate a Scott CR1 Pro 2011*

edited February 2012 in Road buying advice
After being tempted by the great deals on last year's model of the Scott CR1 Pro, I'm desperately trying (so far in vein) to find one that's discounted down from the usual RRP of £2,500 to around the £1,800 mark in my size: XL/58cm.

So far I've had no luck. I've tried searching online and even resorted to calling Scott UK, but they have no centrally located stock left in my size. They said the best I can hope for is finding a Scott stockist that still has one left.

I know the chances of still finding one are slim, but if any Forumite can help me in locating one of the discounted ones in my size I'm prepared to send some Wiggle vouchers their way as a thank you gift.

Yours very hopefully,

GT

TriUK have a size 54, may be worth calling them.

Quite a few places still have 56cm's but no 58's.

I do presume you are a 'definite' 58cm ? I know sometimes you can be between the two.

If so you might be out of luck I think :(

They have an xl, and with the dollar conversion its about your price, not sure what shipping costs but you might be able to negotiate free shipping or a slightly better deal to cover it. They do ship internationally according to the website.

Avoid buying from the U.S. You will almost certainly get smacked on the ar5e with a massive VAT, import duty and related fees bill

Good look with your search, ultegra, ksyrium elite and decent frame make this a bargain if you can get the size.

+1 for Westbrook Cycles. Give them a call. Great LBS who sell a shed load of Scott bikes. Nearly every other bike round here is a Scott!

Another +1 for Westbrook. Can't see a 58 on their website though. I'd still call them. They shift a lot of Scotts, which allows them offer good discounts and they apparently have a good relationship with Scott themselves.

    Nice bikes, good luck.

    From Europe (Austria):

Looks like shipping would be free as the bikes over 300 Euros:

Well, firstly, thanks for all your suggestions so far. I've contacted all the UK bikes shops suggested and I'm afraid no-one has yet has turned up a 58cm.

Reluctant to buy from overseas, and in most cases it doesn't work out anywhere near as cheap as some of the UK deals.

    I guess my hunt continues!

Offer still stands though, anyone with any brainwaves/insights that lead to me obtaining this bike in my size will have some Wiggle vouchers winging their way to them.
