2.2 or 2.4 Maxxis Ardent?

I'm looking to fit a Maxxis Ardent rear tyre and run it tubeless. But I can't decide whether to fit a 2.1 or 2.4. I'v always ridden 2.1's. I ride Cwmcarn regularly, but don't ride in the mush favouring dryer conditions. It's always a compromise, but i'm looking for whichever width is the fastest and grippiest. Frame willing, how would a 2.4 tyre benefit me?

A 2.4 will offer more grip but it won't roll as well as a 2.2.
2.2 will more than likely fit in the frame and offer more mud clearance and it will also roll better.0 -
Dont know how big the 2.4 Ardent comes up but the 2.25 blows up bigger than some other 2.4s. I would be worried how big it is with mud clearance it might fit but be prone to clogging.Fig rolls: proof that god loves cyclists and that she wants us to do another lap0

i have Ardents 2.25 and they are a big volume tyre. Bigger than the sizing suggests, probably around a 2.4.
I 've never seen 2.4 Ardents but i imagine they would be more like a 2.5/2.6. You may have clearance issues. Go with the 2.25 imo.
