Powerlinks

Having seen someone recommend these on the chain cleaning thread I'm interested.
What do people think of them?
More specifically:
- Are they compatible with Shimano chains, 105 in my case, if not is their an equal product that is?
- Is the 10sp always "powerlock" i.e. a permanent fixed repair link, not an "easy out"?

aslong as you get the right speed they work.
Power links and Powerlocks are very different. the lock is a one time use. (some people have forced them for more uses)."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

Yes
KMC yes, SRAM no
to put it bluntly...
Agreed!
I don't tend to remove the chain to clean it (as this would be messy), but to clean the rear mech and chainrings more thoroughly.0 -
I use the KMC 10 speed power-link chain with Shimano chain set

Being pedantic... the KMC link is branded as "Missing Link".“You may think that; I couldn’t possibly comment!”

KMC missing links on Shimano chains for me (actually using one of the £10 Mavic 10 speed chains from CRC at the mo)
Actually makes more sense to buy the KMC chain, then you get the link included0 -

Yes, that is pedantic ... but it does help people who would like to buy one0 -
