Will a triple front mech work on 26/39 chainset?

My new build is nearly ready, but I have stupidly bought a triple xt front mech to go on a 26/39 x7 chainset. Anyone know if this is likely to be too much range for it?

Seen the topic in the FAQs? It covers 10 and 9spd issues.

But if you want a direct answer give the details.
What shifter. What mech. What crankset.

I had a look in faq but couldn't see the relevant info. May be my phone.
Mech is 780 xt, lever is 3x10 xt chainset is 2x10 x7 in 26/39 ratios.

    4. Nine speed front dérailleurs can be used with 10 speed front shifters, but do not work optimally if used with a 10 speed crankset. Nine speed front dérailleurs and cranksets can be used with 10 speed chains and front shifters. A nine speed shifter can be used to shift a 10 speed dyna sys front dérailleur.

    Fairly clear in the FAQs.
