Hi All,
Coming into cycling via triathlon and realised a few things, firstly I can't race because I have no sprint and no bike handling skills and secondly I have signed up for the Marmotte in the summer and it has been suggested that 50m TT are a good way to replicate Alpine climbs. Quite keen to get into TT's but don't really know how. Live in Glasgow. Any help much appreciated.
Cheers

TT's in Scotland are run under slightly different rules to England and Wales, I have attached a link below. You could always take part in TT's across the border, and these are run by the CTT, and have slightly different rules to UCI events, again a link attached. As to whether a 50 mile TT is a good replication I suppose depends on how fast you want to climb, and how long you will be cycling afterwards, multiple climbs at 50 mile TT effort will be one challenging ride to say the least. Alot of riders riding a 50 at full on max effort for that distance would probably not be able to do it again within a few hours.

1 Join britishcycling. Bronze membership would be all you need, you can race most TTs with a provisional license.
2 Look through the event calendar on britishcycling website and find an event you want to do.
3 Download, fill in and post the entry form (+cheque).
4 Turn up, sign on, race!0 -
Join a Club, they will give you advice and lead you to other events...Swveeeet¡¡¡0

Wrong, you don't need a license to race TT's in this country, either club or open events.Norfolk, who nicked all the hills?
