Which Brakes for Enduro Rebuild

Trying to decide which brakes to get for my specialized enduro s-works 2006 rebuild.
Previously was using a mono 6ti 205mm on front and a mono 4 180mm rear.
Going to need ultimate power, the build has a van rc coil shock and lyrik coil forks so the weight of the brakes not too much of an issue. The bike will be geared more towards downhill & aggressive trail riding than xc riding.
Was originally thinking hope tech evo m4 203 / 183. But now not so sure?

new shimano M785 XT brakes with 203mm icetech rotors and pads for good heat management, more power than you will ever need, if you want even more, saints with above rotors would make an insanely powerful system0

Most decent brakes will do what you need tbh. With Hope you'd need to go up to a big hitter as they're mostly a bit underpowered.
I'd be looking at Formula myself. I use basic Oros on all my bikes- XC bike, trail bike, DH bike- and none have missed a beat. Not too heavy, not at all insensitive, but excellent power and reliability. Oh and cheap. But if money allowed, their higher end models are fantastic.Uncompromising extremist0 -
Formula mega/the one for me.
You probably couldn't go far wrong with shimano SLX/XT/Saint though, however Formula brakes are easier to get spare parts etc for, should something go wrong.0 -
I have XTs on standard RT76 203/280 combo. Awesome power, feel ok too.A Flock of Birds

Aye, I really liked my XTs when they worked (m775) but I was a bit miffed when the seals went in a caliper and I had to replace the whole bloomin thing because you can't easily buy the seals alone. That said, it still wasn't too bad, the caliper was cheap and came with pads so not drastically more than buying seals. But it still peeved me.Uncompromising extremist0 -
Sounds like there is a lot of love for the 2012 XT's..
However I have heard they are a bugger to service and replace seals etc, whereas the hopes are easy peasy
thoughts??
Is there any advantage of spending more on xtr over xt 2012?0 -
Went for Formula The Ones myself but they were so good put them on the downhill machine. Have got Elixir 5's now on the Enduro (2005 sworks) and they work fine for me never had any issues with stopping and I do shift when on the bike.I'm going to blow the bank on a new build ( within reason ) NOW DONE!!
