Big back sweep on bars...

I've currently got stock Ritchey bars on my XC bike, so not entirely sure of the backsweep...think they're maybe 6 degrees? When I ride, 95% of my weight goes into the spot between my thumb and index finger and it gets bloody sore, nearly nothing gets spread across the rest of my hand. Feels as though a bit more back sweep would help resolve the problem, but before I fork out for new bars, hoping someone out there might have experienced something similar, or have a different solution.

Any help much appreciated!

Andy

  • I've had that before. Try rolling the bars forward to raise the tips and spread the weight better across your palms. Also, decent gloves / mitts can help.
