Ortlieb pannier bags and spring clip pannier rack issue

I have this quick release spring clip pannier rack from Pletscher like the one in this link http://www.sjscycles.co.uk/pletscher-at ... rc=froogle
Interested in getting a pair of Ortlieb pannier classic bags Roller Classic (QL1) or Roller Plus (QL2). However I am concerned about the big spring clip (resembles a massive mouse trap probably useful for securing newspapers) getting in the way as it leaves between the spring clip and rack edge about 1cm to 1.5cm around. I'm not sure if that leaves enough space for the Ortliebs locking mechanism to fit between. Can anything be done as the spring clip is permanently fixed to this rack so can't be removed.
Only solution I can think of would be attaching these panniers but with the spring clip mechanism continually resting on the Ortliebs locking mechanism but will probably cause damage to it. Any ideas or other pannier racks that are quick release that will solve my dilemma.

Hi, Have just measured the clips on the ortliebs in the corner, And the back of the clip ( the bit that presumably would rest in between the spring and the rack), with inserts for topeak tourist rack attached is 7mm thick, i.e. 0.7cm. I would personally think you will be absolutely fine.
Hope this helps.0 -
Thanks Gosport the sort of info I was looking for. Not sure if you have the Roller Classic or Roller Plus, but if you do have the classic version do you know if you can get shoulder straps with it. Not sure if spending a third of the price more on the plus version is worth it, but shoulder straps would be handy.0

Hi, We have a set of back roller classics - they have shoulder straps for carrying off the bike, which are actually part of the closing mechanism.
You can see it clipped down on this picture:
