Hi,
http://www.cycle-promotions.co.uk/
Has anyone been to one of these?
Just wondering what to expect.
I'm after a new coat and want to try a few on.
Thanks,
Pat...

They're good for bits and bobs, but each time I've been it seems the clothing can be had cheaper online, by quite a bit.
But then again I may be getting there too late and all the good stuff has been snapped up.Scott Foil - viewtopic.php?f=40044&t=129827790 -
There are some bargains to be had, the trick is to not let youself get drawn into a spending frenzy thinking everything is a bargain.Tail end Charlie

They are handy for certain sorts of thing. I went to one and paid about £7.50 for two cans of TF2 and two cans of GT85. I got various bits and bobs (including an old school Zefal frame pump for £3 iirc and a cheap set of Cruds for the MTB etc). I've never bothered with the clothes but for sundry stuff the prices are decent and there is a reasonable choice. I wouldn't go miles to one but they are a good place to get the more boring items!
The clothes often seem to be Endura, Altura type stuff.Faster than a tent.......0 -
I'd love to go to one but living on the east coast of essex I've never seen one near enough.
Do they ever come down south?0 -

No, you're all rolling in it down there, they're for us impoverished northerners.Tail end Charlie

It's just like going into a huge market stall, everything's in plastic boxes on trestle tables.
I went to the Fenton (Stoke) one last week, got a chain cleaner for £8, 3 tins of TF2 for £7-50 (although i'm sure they were 3 for a fiver last year) and some disc brake pads for £10 a pair (cheapest I could find on-line were £12).
I've never bought clothes they seem to be pretty expensive but virtually all my clothing is Aldi/Lidl anyway. They're useful for thing like tyres, tubes in bulk, spare chains in bulk and odds and sods like spare brake cables etc.
Worth going, it's free to get in, and you can spend ages rummaging through the stuff instead of having to say 'please sir can I look at that please?' hanging up behind the counter in the LBS.0 -
Brentwood would appear to be the closest they get to the Essex coast.
I might have a rummage at the Cambridge one if I'm about then.0
