Might head out for a blast round dorking and surrounding areas tomorrow morning (sat 11th)

Can anyone from round there please let me know if there's generally shed loads of snow lying or has it cleared up. Be heading from London where it's mostly melted but don't wana get there to find its like Narnia (the snowy part)

Cheers y'all

Looks like some of us are giving it a bash tomorrow (see the above mentioned thread), 10am.

Roads are clear from what I'm told. Trails are snow / frozen slush / ice / a bit crazy. Shovel perhaps required for the car parks.
  • Was out on Epsom Downs/Headley on thursday - pic below - wash't too bad, to be honest I was surprised how much grip their was! but then being a noob I didn't know what to expect and I did take i very easy on the downhills

They reckon it's between -6 and -9 right now here (sat morn nr leatherhead) but it's lovely and sunny..might get out myself this afternoon!

Blow the liquid back down the tube into the bladder. Always worked for me, even in -20 conditions when skiing.

Excellent conditions in Surrey Hills though. Fair bit of grip. Many of the trails have a nice firm layer on them and not icy. Some deeper stuff to slip about in. A few more downhill bits attempted and was a great laugh. Even if you come off it's just a fall in the snow.

Great for learning to keep off the brakes. Hit them, and slide away :D
  • Went to holmbury hills for the first time yesterday with my new specialized hardrock, was great, first time riding in the snow and although going uphill was a bit of a mission, going down those trails was the best fun ive had in ages
