Lee quarry conditions

Anyone been up there past couple off days? Thinking of going tomorrow and was hoping its not an ice field.

our kid just come home from work now, looks like we gonna try go up tomoz for a few hours so we could see you up there.. like i said i will have to leave by 11 to get back for the party or i will be in the dog house...

I went up last Saturday and it was pretty awful. We tried getting to Cragg but it was virtually unrideable over there and didn't make it. In the Quarry there were loads of rideable bits, but lots of patches of ice and it was pretty hairy. The bottom bit from the cattle-grid back down was OK other than one surprise patch of ice. My experience was slightly hampered by both water bottles, my rear mech and freehub freezing. I can see the windfarm on the other side of the hill from my house and it still looks like there is snow sitting there. I'll be leaving it a week before I head up again (and I've just done squats and deadlifts at the gym so I can hardly walk anyway!)

We'll only be playing on the jumps / drops, no cragg visits tomorrow, get yourself up, should be a laugh

To be honest I'd give it a miss. I live at the same height on the opposite side of the valley and everything is covered in ice from the freezing rain, struggled to stand up on my drive this morning. Seeing as Lee Quarry is north facing as well I reckon it'll be lethal.

Well that was an interesting morning, had a good 3 hrs up there. Worst part was the road up to the quarry, it was just complete ice.

Pump track was clear, as was the skills section and a couple of the bermed runs. Definately not a wasted morning. Its kind of good that the usual stuff was not rideable as it made you find other bits to mess about on.

Saw about half a dozen others up there braving it.

dodge i tried to sneak out to hook up with you but it was a huge no no or should that be huge no no
i never seen the misus like that before she usually fine for me to go out biking.. i was little after 7am thought i'l go get our kid and be up lee for first light...
i got the your going biking it's summer birthday party today i thought you were taking us to the cinema then for a family meal..
yeah i am i will be back by 11am party start at 12 and film starts at 320pm i be back in plenty of time... so you not gonna help me get ready for the party.. how many people doe it take to blow up a few ballons. que bang nag nag nag shout shout whinge whinge..
ok i wont go biking... wouldnt care but i not been out biking for 3 weeks..

i ended up doing the party then the cinema then at applewoods for a family meal.. (up your neck of the woods dodge t)
so instead of her sulking at me it's me sulking at her, for not getting out for a few hours on sat..
he he makes me sound selfish does'nt it...

At least you got the brownie points in, so next time there should be no complaints
Only been applewoods once, few month ago, was alright though - good enough to return.
Party go alright, everyone off their tits on jelly n ice cream ??

if you call a load of hyper kids hyped up on sugar good then it was fantastic. ( not quite as fantastic as a schrelp round the quarry would of been)....
then came the cinema sitting next to the most annoying b1tch you ever met. (it say on screen before movie starts please turn off mobile phone) 30 mins into movie hear music woman reaches into her bag answers her phone then to p155 me off even moreshe puts it on foooking speaker holding it at arms length to talk into it...
then there was the arogant cnut sat behind who kept kicking the back of the chair and when he was asked to stop it he just laughed and carried on doing it..
but thats were having a cheeky 5 year old comes in.. yeah summer you can stand on the seat and dance to the muppets blocking the 4r5eholes behinds view.. he didnt like this though.. so this encouraged me er i mean summer to stand taller and dance a little longer... he who laughs last laughs loudest they say....
it was a pretty good day though i did enjoy it spending time wih the family....
