Hello
Notax and I are making a cheeky trip to the Peaks next week and would like to cram in a quick ride (no more than 3 hours) around the Ashbourne area..... I've done the usual internet trawl and can't find anything, can anyone point me in the right direction? We have OS maps etc but have never ridden in that area before so don't really know the good bits from the rubbish ones! Any nice loops around there?
Cheers!

I've never ridden that far South but there's the Tissington/Manifold trails(disused railway lines so not hard at all)there's also a circuit around Carsington Water(again easy)
I have a couple of routes from White Peak MTBing on CD but they're more Bakewell/Buxton way,not far if you have a car.I could email you the pdfs if needed.0 -
Hmm, we don't have much time but would like to get a decent ride in (as opposed to a toodle).
Have just looked it up and Bakewell or Buxton wouldn't be too much further - but time out of the saddle (what a dilema!)! If it's not too much trouble, would it be possible to email over those routes? I think it'd be worth a bit longer in the car to get a good ride inLife is not measured by the number of breaths you take, but by the number of moments that take your breath away....

Some real nice riding to be had around wildboarclough / three shires / cat n fiddle / macc forest. We regularly do an approx 15mile route there. Few options on set off point too so travel is not too big an option.
Other than that you need to be getting further up, hayfield area etc.
