Hi All
Bought a Ribble Gran Fondu last year that came with ITM aero wheels.
I am a 90kg forthysomething rider that rides purely for pleasure and would like to purchase some new wheels up to £200. I am not conceared about weight more durability, reliability and nice looking ones would also be nice.
My novice research has come up with 2 choices so far.
Shimano RS30's http://www.ribblecycles.co.uk/sp/road-track-bike/RS30-Clincher-Wheels-Pair/SHIMWHFR382?utm_campaign=Googlebase&utm_medium=organic&utm_source=Googlebase
Kinetic One K1 Aero
http://shop.kinetic-two.co.uk/kinetic-one-k1-aero-wheels-700c--road-time-trial-triathlon-bike---red-9-p.aspI like the look of the Kenetics but are they any better than the Shimanos?
Any help or guidance greatly appreciated

Is that the same as a gran fondo? I'd go for mavics or fulcrums. racing 5's or aksiums?0

No, the Gran Fondu is made of Gruyere cheese.0

One of these.......Faster than a tent.......0

Fulcrum Racing 7's can be had for £130 and they're excellent budget wheels IMHO. If you can stretch to about £250 then the Cole C24 Lites are very good too.0

Can do you some Shimano RS80s at £230. Excellent condition. PM if interested
Different league to Aksiums and Fulcrum 5/7 wheels0 -

Aksiums at that price - bomb proof and now come with tyres fitted making them a nice package. Look nice too.0

Be aware Tomatpots...i see Fulcrums mentioned and as much as it pains me to put someone off a bit, they recommend rider weights with their wheels...they state 'riders in excess of 82kg should be extra vigilant etc etc'...'riders in excess of 109kg should not ride these wheels'
I have Racing 5s and love them, but at 10.5 stone (whats that..66kg ?) i'm well within their recommended limits.
At 90kg, you're ok, but be aware.
Lovely bike BTW....i'm so close to getting a Fondo or maybe the Sportive Bianco with racing 3s, but thats another story.0 -
A nice set of handbuilts really would be ideal for you - tougher than e.g. aksiums, better hubs/bearings, decent weight. I'd suggest something like CXP33s on Tiagra hubs for something that will look good, give 1000s of miles of problem free service, and should come in under £200.0
