hard wearing tubs

hi,
I have a nice but old bike somebody gave me, it has lovely old mavic tubular wheels on it but the tyres have perished... I would like to use it as a training bike so need some tubs that are to some degree hard wearing and puncture resistant.. can anyone reccomend any??

Continental Sprinters - nice ride, last ages, good price, look cool, all black so 2 mph more top end.

You can get Gatorskin (puncture resistant) ones as well but I haven't used these - I use the normal ones.

Conti Giros are a bit tougher than Sprinters and they come with amberish sidewalls which look nice and trad'.
