Tricross brake levers

Quick question, how do you take of tri/cyclocross brake levers on the flats? I wont use them but the cables look a bit different.

    Effectively, the outer part of the brake cable is interrupted, or broken, so the most straightforward way is to replace all of the brake cable outers. You will need to untape and re-tape the bars to do this. If the inner cable is OK, it could be re-used. Any LBS will sell you a length of outer. Just be careful how you cut it. Pay particular attention to finishing the cut ends off so there are no sharp edges or burrs.

    Alternatively, you could fit some in-line adjusters in place of the top levers like these:

    I removed mine from my Tricross, put new cable outers on, AND fitted an adjuster - but only for the rear brake.
