Rare carbon frame ?? Buying advice

HI all,
New around here and was hoping for a little advice. I'm about to buy a Rock Racsing Carbon frame from a freind of a freind. It's about 3 years old and has never had a set of rims on it.
I've done some research on the web and the only references to this RX-1 model seem to all look slightly different. I beleive the one I am looking at was one of the earliest designs.
I'm hoping to find out if anyone can tell me if this frame is genuine (i've contacted Rock but to no avail)
And also if anyone has anytips on what to look out for when buying older unridden road frames?!?
