Charity Ride 1st April in aid of Diabetes UK

We are organising a charity ride on 1st April for those fancying a bit of a challenge. Proceeds will go to Diabetes UK.

When: Sunday 1st April

Distance: About 107 miles, 3500ft climbing (according to bikeroutetoaster, I think there's more!)
Bikeroutetoaster maps are on the web page
Route will be signed

Where: Starting at Four Ashes public house, riding to Ironbridge, Church Stretton, over The Wrekin, Edgmond and back to Four Ashes

Fundraising: Entry is £30 and we are asking riders to raise £100 if they can. We appreciate times are hard, so any
sponsorship is appreciated
We have a Virgin Money Giving page at http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/team/cycle_4_charity

Support: We have a broom wagon, a minibus, motorcycle and a car supporting riders
Water is being provided by Wenlock Water at each of the 4 stations
We are working on food for the stations

Giveaways: So far, we have a drinks bottle, cycling jersey and finishers medal for each rider – again we are working on other stuff

There is also a shorter leisure route of 13 miles for us wimps!

Webpage: http://www.i-tms.co.uk/i-tmschallenge2012.html

The ride is being limited to 50 riders. Pre-entry only, entries close 11th March.

Oh, we're being led out by Lynne Taylor and some of her Born to Bike buddies too!

If you appreciate that times are hard, don't ask participants to raise £100. And of top of that,
why not reduce the price to, say, £15. Oh, and bottles & jerseys. Save the money that it
will cost to acquire them and donate the cash to the charity instead.

    Limited to 50 riders!?
  • De Sisti Thanks for your comments :-)
  • Hi Guys & Gals, the weather's picking up and this might just be the early season leg-warmer you've been looking for :D
