Morning all,
Been up a while, completely forgot to come on BR, but oh well. Up working on my presentation, gotten it up to 10 minutes so far, so i'm feeling very confident, even though I still have almost 2 weeks to wait.0 -
Morning me hearties!
I'm having porridge for breakfast. Not had it since I was young, mmmmm
So, Hot Librarian broke her foot last night. She has a meeting with an orthopaedic surgeon on Thursday, where they'll decide if they need to operate. Fun! So, plan of the day is to deal with the little sh*t that's lodged a formal complaint in about our department, and then after work, round to hers for some TLC.
LatersIt takes as much courage to have tried and failed as it does to have tried and succeeded.
Join us on UK-MTB we won't bite, but bring cake!

Bloodyhell its cold in the bunker this morning!
didnt ride last night as if 4 wheels wouldnt grip on a flat surface, 2 wheels wouldnt on bumpy ice! -6 at my house last night, so i spent the night snooping around on tinterweb looking at rear shocks etc. joined MTBR, what a crazy bunch they are! but have some usefull info.
Today involves a few site visits and gazillion phonecalls so i'm sure i'll be brain dead by this evening when i get home.

Morning
Still got the left over man flu, but time to man up - so going running after work at Delamere, whats the worst that can happen!
Before then fun & games in the office.0 -
Morning 'Tards,
Cold and dull as fook here today. Porridge and coffe has been downed so I'm feeling human.
Looks like it snowed a bit last night where I was going to go riding so will leave that 'till tomorrow and head down to a nice warm swimming pool and gym for a good workout: hopefully there'll be some of the womens aerobic classes going on so I can 'firm up' just by watching them Speaking of which, it looks like the CC has become a FFF (Flange Free Forum) - we need to get more burds in here..."I spent most of my money on birds, booze and fast cars: the rest of it I just squandered." I concur...
Still getting a bit of grief with my back, but it is easing, managed a ride into work yesterday which was quite scary, then a ride out with the lads in the evening... which was so cold I admit I did weep a little bit...
Just had bacons & coffee at ASDA and am waiting in anticipation of 2 sets of goodies being delivered, carbon bars form CR & carbon frame from China, was in customs mon/tue so fingers crossed it may turn up today - nice!0 -
morning you bunch of back door bandits
Too cold and far too icey for any sort of bike fun other than an hour on the rollers. So cold in the workshop last night the condensation froze onto the inside of the glass. Can't have the heating on in there either because mrs spong has 5 dormant trees stored in there.
Today will be meh, with a bit more meh thrown in for good meh-sure.Visit Clacton during the School holidays - it's like a never ending freak show.
Who are you calling inbred?0 -
Monging bumders
Lectures on economics of farms this morning. Dull as anything. Rest of the day will be spent catching up on other works. No hockey later so I'll be off to the gym to do some exercisings.
This evening I will be going out and getting absolutely sloshed at the bar on the other campus. It's dirt cheap!

Just realised it is Wed so I've got one more day!
I'm going down for scoff - there is a cultural thing about working for tech companies - free food.
After that I'll read the Economist just to prove that there is such a thing as free lunch in the Economist.
Silicon Valley next week.
Matthew - I used to run in Delamere Forest and as you asked the worst thing that can happen is serious. There are wild bears there that bogger you then eat your head - used to happen all the time when I lived there - does not get into the press for obvious reasons. Interestingly I lived in a place called Cruddington.0 -

i have finished wor, eaten lunch and am now off to bed for a bit.
see you later cunts.0 -
Well that's some stuff done for today.
Its fookin freezing out on deck so I'm staying onboard and down on deck two where it's warm.
I'm shattered after getting up at 5 this morning! Ah well Wednesday is becoming the standard long day! I could literally fall asleep stood up!
Laters fools0 -
back at my desk, bit brain fuzzled, but got to play with some pikeys and some coppers which is always nice
only another week to go and its payday! the first of from new company, i bet it goes wrong, especially when theres bling that i "need"
Still snow covered here so another night off the bike. maybe i'll re-copter tape the bike, the bits i messed up first time round, but to be honest, dunno if i can be arsed tonight. might just sit and be fat?0 -

Worse thing I ever saw was an ugly couple shagging against a metro....0 -
Hmmmmmmm,
Was informed today that in light of 5 years of outstanding service to the company, I'm due a £500 holiday voucher.
As our family holiday is already booked and paid for, I'm considering a long weekend in Morzine towards the end of the MTB season in mid-sep. Flights are dirt cheap thanks to easy-jet, and I can get a 2 bed chalet with what's left easily.0 -
-
Should be if I push hard. That's the reason I want to go close to the end of the season. I had initially planned on doing the End2End, that's early sep. I'll give that a miss and do Morzine instead. I'll not be doing any mahoosive jumps or anything like that. But that's no different to usual really.
I'll be able to start weight bearing on my leg in a couple of weeks. I'm going to hit the training hard. I've talked myself into working hard to make sure I get back on the bike lighter and fitter than when I had the accident.
Just never been to Morzine before, fancied doing something a bit different, and as it's free figured I may as well. It'll onlt be for 3-4 days. If I can come back having done a 3 full days riding I'll be happy.0 -
Yeah like i said before its good to have a goal, and thats a massive one and one i would love to do!
Good luck and i hope you manage it!
Personally a long weekend in amsterdam would of suficed for me0 -
Well there may be some spaces left in the chalet which will be offered up to crudders FoC. Just cover your flights, food passes etc.
Will see what happens with it.0
