Can a Continental Mountain King Supersonic Tyre 2.4 fit on a Whyte T-120 which currently has 2.1 width?

about 2cm from the tire to the fork.
i dont know whether Wtb rims can take 2.4 either?

Mountain King 2.4s measure up roughly 2.2, from memory, so will probably be fine. (that's old Mountain Kings not MK2s).

They're not very good though.
