NERVE AM 7.0 2012

HI guys! hope you can help me this will be my first AM bike and want to get it right my problem is the magura2 brakes compared to the avid elixir? , i have been toying pushing the button but just not sure,Although i was going to go for the 9.0AM which is right at the top of my budget and maybe to much of a bike for a newbie.Just your thoughts.

Nothing wrong with Magura stuff. Good German engineering.
