Should i have upgraded brakes

Was on a budget but could have upgraded my tektro cable brakes for tektro auriga comp brakes for £45. I didn't, on the basis that i thought i could get something better (second hand) for around the same money when i could afford it.
Just wanted some thoughts as at a quick glance not seeing much, although not seriously looking yet. Was this the right choice or not? Or are they any good?

Tektro cable brakes work well when precisely set up and maintained.0

Have no problem with them, but was this a good move not to upgrade at the time?0

You'd have got your £45 worth, as that is what they are worth, so is a 50/50. If you needed the money, I'd have kept it.0

If your brakes stop you well enough, keep them, buying 'good used' is IMHO better than 'cheap new'.....

You wouldn't have gone wrong with either option there, the Aurigas are cheap but good performers at the price. TBH if you decide to do the same upgrade at a later point you'll probably be able to find a used set for about the same.Uncompromising extremist0
