Few vids from Saturday with Squarepants..
Early ride, set off about 7:45 to miss the worst of the weather this weekend.. Trails were pretty icey, didn't bother with the top DH sections as the Airstream FR jumps were incredibly slippy and the DH is even higher up.
The Bikes
Airstream FR
1st Twrch Red Section
2nd Twrch Red Section
And this is why the uplift was closed....
Was different riding it in the snow - if you tried braking, you slid on the ice.... if you tried turning, you slid on the ice... if you stood up to pedal, you slid on the ice...... you get the idea

Looked easier than it was I bet ! Guess it would have been guaranteed wipeout if you'd tried the DH track."I spent most of my money on birds, booze and fast cars: the rest of it I just squandered." [George Best]0

Yeah was a strange ride tbh... you don't get it from the vids, but it was very icey in places meaning that putting any power/speed down was a psychological thing.. as soon as you tried you lost traction so it seemed quicker and safer to just roll with the terrain!0

Had a couple of nice icy rides last week, pretty fun! Makes a change to what the ground is normally like, strange though because the ground is frozen solid on top, and just underneath it's nice and soft. So you'll be riding along, loooooads of grip on the frozen forest floor, and then suddenly your front wheel lets go! Fun though0
