I am STILL getting cold feet.

I have bought a pair of 'Woolly Bully' socks and use Pro Tarmac H2O overshoes.

Will it 'really' help to buy neoprene overshoes?

Thx.

  • Yes. I have tried lots of different overshoes and this year my LBS convinced me to buy the Assos Neoprene ones and they are hands down best overshoes I've got and have held up well in the recent cold conditions. They are pricey but I feel their worth it.

The BBB hardwear ones are great. I find the Wooly Boollys too thick and got some medium weight socks from Prendas...the combo is great.

i've got some endura socks, and cheap £20 altura neoprene overshoes and my feet are warm -> tested this combo down to -2C

can't comment on how effective it is vs. the thinner waterproof type though

+1 for BBB Hardwears - although do look at sizing with BBB overshoes. Few people have commented that they seem to come up a size too big, which I also found with my hardwears, so consider sizing down if you go for them.

If you have some wash in waterproofer (Grangers, etc.) then stick the overshoes in with a jacket (or whatever) every now and then and that will help stop water soaking in so easily.

PRO neoprene overshoes with Rapha winter socks. Feet never get cold. The Rapha winter socks are brilliant and 100% merino.

Endura road overshoes are good in terms of weather protection but they're a bit hit and miss in terms of build quality. I've had two pairs in as many years - the zips had failed in each case. I know people who haven't had a single problem.

    I now have these:

I've not had any problems with them and they keep my feet as warm and dry as is possible when riding in adverse weather. Prefer them to the Endura's.
