Hi there,

First post on these forums so hello!

I have just purchased a Forme Vision from CRC for £500 (and £15 cashback :) ) - I couldn't believe you could get a Kinesis Frame with Full Tiagra Group set for that price so I am very much hoping I a not dissapointed when it turns up tomorrow! I currently ride a second hand Trek 1.5 (Sora groupset) so I hope I am going to notice any decrease in quality (will be pleased to not have to deal with the thumb shift on the Sora now).

Just wondered if anyone has a Forme bike and has any feedback - reviews are rare but the to pof the range Forme alu framed bike got a solid 4 stars on here.

Cheers all

Dean

Welcome to the forum, and it's nice to have another Forme rider on here.

I've had my Forme just over a month and I couldn't be happier with it, and like yourself I upgraded from a Trek (albeit a 1.1) with thumb shifters. I didn't mind them at the time but I wouldn't go back to them now after using 105's.

Hope you enjoy your bike as much as I am, and get some pictures of it on here.

  • Thanks,

I will throw some pics on when I get the chance! Just finished my first decent ride on the Forme (we have had a lot of snow in Cambridgeshire) but I couldn't believe how quick it was. Its hard to tell because of wind conditions etc but I was about 20 seconds a mile quicker than my Trek, and I certainly wasn't pushing it on the ice!

Cant beleive how good value for money the Forme bikes are, and untill I upgrade to Carbon, I can't see myself needing anything more from an alu framed bike.

    Cheers

Glad your enjoying it, I'm starting to see a few more around now though most people say to me that they have never heard of them when they see my bike.

If you do upgrade to carbon, I can recommend the Reflex. It's a great bike with decent kit, I think Forme have got it pretty much spot on with the price/spec of their bikes.

  • I will bear that in mind, though I think they have changed all the names and specs for 2012 :)

I agree with regard spec/price and I personally quite like the fact its not a Trek or giant and that little bit more unique (and hopefully less stealable)!

I managed to pick up my Vision at a rediculously low price (and its a 58cm frame so not too strange), and to get Tiagra on a Kenesis frame at my price point was unbelieveable.

    Keep it up Forme!!

The formes fav at the mo,looking forward to ya pics of yours :)
  • All 3 are very good buys at that price - though the stand out thing about the Forme is that it comes with the upgraded Tiagra Groupset (if you wanted to upgrade either of the other 2 at a later date the shifters alone are C£80). The Forme is probably the Racir of the three and the shifters are in my opinion so much better than the sometimes frustrating Sora thumb knobs. If I bought the Defy I would also want to change wheels and Rims straight away as there heavy and 25s as appose to 23s.

One thing I will say though is that the other two are not limited on size, you want to be at least 6' for the 58cm Forme so if your shorter then get one of the others in the better fit size - no ammount of better kit makes up for you not being able to reach it!!

will get some photos on soon!! It keeps bloody snowing!
