Chain skip
I recently replaced my bike
wheels so decided at the same time i would replace the rear cassette, front centre chainring, chain and jockey wheels.
So now whenever the chain is in the middle chainring and on the second or third largest sprocket and you have to pedal backwards at lights etc the chain jumps down to a lower sprocket, also whenever you free wheel for a while and start to pedal again the chain skips slightly .
How can i fix this as i am lost?

sounds like the freewheel might be a bit stiff, not unusual on a new one thats still got all it's lube
otherwise, first step is check that the rear mech is correctly adjusted
you'll find exact instrutions on the rear mech makers website, for shimano that's http://techdocs.shimano.com
also generic how to on the park tool site http://www.parktool.com/blog/repair-helpmy bike - faster than god's and twice as shiny0 -
Had a simialr problem that was fixed by taking a couple of links out the chain.
Was a bit too long.0
